This was usually as a result of not wanting him to treck his wet-self into the house after being in the swimming pool. For whatever reason, he thought it was cool to pee into the shrub!

We also started with a routine...times (usually after meals or transitions) that he could associate with normally just "going" on his own.

Oh yes...and I tried to give him as much control as possible (which was hard, my little dude is stubborn!)Chris P-Mhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12076184754958801358noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3848169887881858510.post-4506939365658593652010-11-21T07:08:08.283-08:002010-11-21T07:08:08.283-08:00Wow, it's so sad to hear he would not receive ...Wow, it's so sad to hear he would not receive nevessary assistance if he was not in process of being adopted. Services that threatened his existence. What a journey you are on and I'm thrilled he found his way by referral to your hearts. Great news on the potty training, be sure to have a summary and handy link of tips on your blog that you update as he continues to master this tough skill that my typical kids did not master by four!!Phttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16301340414658686677noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3848169887881858510.post-59812636926127055022010-11-18T13:09:37.296-08:002010-11-18T13:09:37.296-08:00Thank you for your comments! :) It isn't too...Thank you for your comments! :) It isn't too often we can have the luxury of sharing our stories / experiences in detail. It tears me apart to think of this beautiful baby being neglected the way he was early on, going hungry. Clearly, motherhood has very little to do with the gestation process and absolutely everything to do with what happens the moment -- however far along it happens -- after your baby is placed in your arms.Amanda Broadfoothttp://www.LifeIsASpectrum.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3848169887881858510.post-31623703932153521572010-11-17T19:29:14.665-08:002010-11-17T19:29:14.665-08:00loved your guest blog and plan on visiting your ho...loved your guest blog and plan on visiting your home blog often. thank you for sharing. your children are so lucky to have angels like you as parents. congrats on your beautiful family.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3848169887881858510.post-57018366830475764742010-11-17T13:17:36.064-08:002010-11-17T13:17:36.064-08:00Wow, that is major progress in such a short time, ...Wow, that is major progress in such a short time, well done to Kai and all of you. I am very excited about the potty training and that he achieved it just before 4 years old. I will be trying that out shortly myself (classic autism, mild). Fingers crossed :) Lovely to see the background to your blog too as I haven't had a chance to read through your archives yet!
